The Southeast Linuxfest has been announced for June 8-10, 2012 at the Blake Hotel in Charlotte. They have lots of talks, workshops, demos and general sessions useful to anyone interested in Open Source software or Linux. Topics I have attended in the past included: open source software in education, open source software in science, programming the Arduino, building and maintaining a cluster, OpenStreetMap, Game design, Intro to the Panda board and Linux with ham radio. You can also pick up the latest versions of Fedora, Ubuntu, Open Solaris, FreeBSD, Suse, and other free and open software.
If they follow the pattern as before, the attendance to all the workshops and forums is free but they do offer a VIP ticket for dinners and meeting some of the speakers.
